Day 1 - Barrio Abajo & El Prado’s History

Begin your adventure by enjoying a hearty Colombian breakfast, which will include arepas de huevo (egg-stuffed corn cakes) and lovely tinto (traditional black coffee). Afterward, we'll explore the historic Barrio Abajo neighborhood, known for its impressive murals and street art that tell riveting stories of the city's history. Glean insights from the vivid walls as we stroll through the vibrant streets. Later, delve into even more history at the Museo del Caribe where exhibits are dedicated to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, one of Colombia's most beloved authors. To finish the day, we'll head to El Prado district, an architect's dreamland with its unique Republican-era buildings that have formed the face of Barranquilla for generations.

Day 2 - A Taste of Colombia

Fuel up your morning with a local breakfast delicacy called the carimanola (cheese-filled yucca). Why not? After all, you'll indeed need the energy for today's salsa dancing class at the renowned La Troja salsa club. Don't worry if you've got two left feet, it's all about having fun, right? Post your joyous dance session, you'll surely be ready for something to snack on. We'll head for a late lunch to savour the city's most celebrated dish, Sancocho (local stew). Wrapping up the day, we'll take a serene stroll through Zoo of the City, where we'll meet some of Colombia's friendly animal inhabitants. You'll be surprised by the variety of creatures they house!

Day 3 - A Grand Finale

On our final day, we will visit Malecón del Río-- Barranquilla's stunning river-front district. Engage in some retail therapy, or sit back with a refreshing limonada de coco (coconut lemonade) and absorb the vibrant city vibes. While you're at it, don't forget to try the delicious butifarra (local sausage) from the street vendors. As the day reaches its summit, we'll witness the spectacular sunset at the mouth of the Magdalena River - a fitting climax for a fantastic trip. Feels like the perfect end to a colourful journey, doesn't it?
