Day 1 - Immersion in Energy
Ciudad del Este is often likened to a buzzing beehive, less for its architecture and more for its sheer verve and gusto. We begin our adventure in this America’s version of metropolis, where we kick off our day shopping at the vibrant Guaira Fall Shopping Mall. It’s a pulsating, vibrant atmosphere that's sure to get under your skin. Next, it's time to savor the delicious local cuisine at a nearby restaurant for lunch, because nothing says 'you've arrived' quite like a meal among the locals. From here, we'll head over to the mesmerizing Itaipu Dam. Did you know that it holds the status of being the second largest hydroelectric dam in the world? Cool, huh? We’ll spend the afternoon marveling at this man-made marvel, then wrap up the day watching the sunset over the Parana River, reminding us of the natural beauty that still rules over these lands.
Day 2 - In the Heart of Nature
Time to awaken the adventure junkie in you! Our second day in Ciudad del Este starts off with a thrilling visit to the stunning Iguazu Falls. How about getting soaked in the mist of one of the largest waterfalls in the world? Sounds exciting, doesn't it? Following an adrenaline-filled morning, we'll recharge with a picnic lunch amidst the beauty of nature. The afternoon holds a peaceful boat-ride in Lake of the Republic, an artificial lake right in the heart of the city. As the day seeps into evening, we'll finish off with an electric visit to the Buddhist Temple with a jaw-dropping view of the city. How's that for contrast? Yeah, we thought you'd like that.
Day 3 - History and Farewells
For our final day in Ciudad del Este, we step back in time with a visit to the Jesuit Missions of Paraguay. These well-preserved ruins offer intriguing insight into the region's past. Afterwards, we keep the feeling of nostalgia alive with a stroll through the Monday's Fair. Picture this: traditional Paraguayan crafts, local food stalls, and even live music. It’s basically a fiesta on the streets! After lunch, we’ll pay a visit to Paraguay River. Rounding off the day, and our time in the city, is a reservation at a fine-dining restaurant. It’s our last chance to savor the local cuisine and toast to our incredible journey.
