Not too far off, the mesmerizing Noria Water Wheels awaits – remarkable wooden wheels dating back to Byzantine times and one of the most iconic sights of the city. After being mesmerized by the soothing sounds of flowing water, it's time for a delicious lunch. We'll savor the famous Syrian platter – Shawarma! To digest our meal, we'll visit The Azem Palace: it is time travel back into the 18th century, an epitome of ancient Islamic architecture. Day 1 ends with a relaxing evening at the Lion Stone Restaurant, enticing us with local cuisine by the riverside.
Day 2 - Dive Deep into Ḩamāh's Rich History
It's Day 2, and it's time to tread the cobblestone streets of Hama's old city, where time stands still. It's only fitting to begin with a visit to the Mosaic Museum. There you'll be dazzled by ancient mosaics depicting both traditionally Syrian and universally biblical scenes. For Lunch, we will try the famous Fattet Hummus at a family-run local restaurant. Post-lunch, we'll venture to Hama's Castle aka Citadel of Hama which offers unparalleled panoramic views of the city and its stunning Norias. We will round off the day at Al-Nouri Mosque, an architectural gem right in the heart of the city.
Day 3 - Mysteries of the Outer Realm
On the final day, we will head towards the outskirts of Hama to visit the enigmatic Apamea, an ancient city dating back to 300 BC. Bask in the grandeur of numerous Corinthian columns standing staunchly along a two-kilometer street. Post-lunch, we continue to the Dead Cities, home to hundreds of abandoned settlements that tell a unique story about life during early Christianity.
