Introduction

Experience the mystical charm of a 3-day trip in the ancient city of Harar, Ethiopia. A pilgrimage for faith, an asylum for peace, and hub for culture, Harar offers a unique blend of spiritual enlightenment and historical exploration. This trip compels you to unwind, take in the ancient air, and embrace the tales generations-old walls whisper in your ears. We will travel through time, exploring vibrantly colored markets, enchanting landscapes, and delving into Harar's rich history.

Day 1 - Enthralling Introduction to Harar

South Gate, here we come! Let's start our Harar journey with a deep dive into its vibrant culture. After landing, we'll rest up at our hotel before heading out to explore the South Gate, one of the gateways to the medieval Old Town. This gate is exactly the kind of welcome we need, it's like stepping into a history book! Our day won't be complete without a visit to the Miyazia Raphael Church and the Rimbaud Museum. The former, a beautiful cathedral with magnificent murals and a regal air, and the latter, a homage to a French poet who once resided in Harar. We finish our day by losing ourselves in the enchanting qat market; a journey for our senses, full of scents, colors and hustle and bustle.

Day 2 - The Colourful Harmony of Harar

Today we're off to the historic Old City Walls - built centuries ago, they're still standing strong. It's a testament to the city's resilience, isn't it? After a brief history lesson there, we'll make our way to the lively spice market. The aroma of spices will guide us, pulling us into a world of exotic fragrances. The climax of our cultural immersion will be the exciting spectacle of the Hyena Man feeding wild hyenas. It sounds scary, I won't deny, but the friendship between man and beast is something incredible and truly boggles the mind.

Day 3 - A Fond Farewell

Our final day in Harar! We'll make sure it's a memorable one. Let's explore more of the culture and shop at the craft market. We will also visit the breathtaking Lake Alemaya. The serenity of this lake will give us some peace before heading back home. Lastly, we will make our way to the airport for afternoon flights. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend, isn't it? But hey, every end is a new beginning, and who knows when we might find ourselves again in the magical labyrinth of Harar!
