Next, we'll explore the renowned Id Kah Mosque, the largest mosque in China, where you can bask in the spiritual ambiance and understand the religion's historical significance in the region. Then, we'll take a leisurely cruise through the zigzagging lanes of the Old Town, observing the locals’ lives and discovering ancient Chinese architecture. Following a mellow lunch at a traditional Uyghur house, we'll visit the bustling Sunday Market, and wrap up the first day with the delicious street food like lamb skewers, pilaf and mouthwatering pastries at the Night Market. Did you ever think such a whirlwind could be so leisurely?

Day 2 - The Silk Road and Beyond

Day 2 offers an unforgettable adventure as we trace the ancient China-Pakistan trading route, the Karakoram Highway. Picture the caravan of camels carrying silk hundreds of years ago as we journey through the scenic route. We will reach the serene Lake Karakul nestled among lofty peaks. Here, you can take a boat ride, enjoy the tranquility or even try your hand at fishing. Post-lunch, brace yourself for sand dune surfing at the breathtaking Kumtag Desert. We will start our day with the visit to the Abakh Khoja Mausoleum, a classic masterpiece of Uighur architecture. After savoring a brunch of traditional Uyghur Kebabs and Nang Bread, our next stop is Kashgar's impressive Animal Market. Will you be tempted to take home a camel or a goat? Next, we plunge into the heart of the city centre, teeming with life, where you can shop till you drop. From the unique jewelry to finely crafted textiles, Kashgar's maze-like bazaars are shoppers’ paradise.
