Day 1 - Exploring Kure’s Rich Maritime History

What better way to start your adventure than a plunge into Kure's maritime history? Our first stop is the Yamato Museum. Get hooked on the captivating tales of Japan's largest battleship. Our afternoon stroll takes us down the nostalgic streets of Old Navy Street. Notice the Western-inspired architecture? That's Kure wrapped in a time capsule. A quick 20 minutes drive will take us to the Irifuneyama Memorial Museum – an important symbol of the Russo-Japan war era. To wrap up the day, we sit down to a teppanyaki-style dinner right at the pace of the bustling Kure Port Market. Fresh seafood, locally produced veggies, and lively conversation. What a welcome!

If Mother Nature could paint a city, wouldn't it look like Kure? Today, we uncover this picturesque city's outdoor gems. Our day starts at the foot of Mount Noro. Ready your hiking boots, because we're conquering the third highest peak in the Hiroshima prefecture! As we wander through the lush trails, soak in the panoramic vista of the Seto Inland Sea. After this breath-taking trip, it's time for a little downtime. Our next stop is the popular Kure shopping arcade, TakeGinza Street. Lost in translation? Fret not! This buzzing street has enough food, drink and knick knacks to beat any language barrier. As evening falls, we revel in the symphony of lights at Kure Portopia Park, marking an exquisite end to an unforgettable day.

Day 3 - Submarine Adventure and Goodbye Sushi

Ever wondered how it feels 300 feet under? At the Kure Maritime Museum, we climb aboard the gigantic submersible - I-58, a living account of Kure’s post-war history. Just a short walk away, we engage in an authentic Tea Ceremony experience at the serene Gokokujinjya Shrine. Our last evening in Kure calls for a treat. We head to Kaneko Suisan, Kure's legendary sushi restaurant where the nigiri is as big as your palm! Served with warmth of the host and locals, your last meal in Kure will remain engraved upon your heart, tastefully commemorating these splendid three days.
