Days Description
1 Day 1 - Immerse in Niigata's City Chic
2 Day 2 - Basking in Nature's Bounty
3 Day 3 - Sake, Science and Goodbyes

Introduction

Experience the serenity and culture-rich beauty of Niigata - a hidden gem of Japan. Known for its stunning landscapes, mouth-watering sushi and sake breweries, it wraps you in a captivating blend of traditional and modern charm. In three days, you'll uncover the heart of Niigata, blending city exploration with leisurely countryside walks and rich gastronomic experiences.

Day 1 - Immerse in Niigata's City Chic

We'll kick off our adventure in the rising sun with Bandai Bridge, the symbol of Niigata city. It’s not just a bridge, it’s a viewpoint. Did you know it's even recognized as one of the ‘100 finest bridges of Japan’? As dusk settles, trade the city views for the bustling atmosphere of Pier Bandai, a hotspot for shopping and food lovers alike. You'll find everything from local crafts to fresh sushi. If you can, resist the urge to go sushi-crazy - we have a full-blown sushi dinner planned at one of the city's top rated sushi bars! With your palate dancing with seafood flavors, we'll hit the pillow, winding down for tomorrow's countryside escape.

Day 2 - Basking in Nature's Bounty

Today, we're painting a rural picture in deep shades of green. Buckle up for a day trip to the serene Sado Island. Swaying rice fields, sprawling mountains, and soul-soothing views will rock your city-tired senses back to zen. Of course, it isn't a countryside jaunt without a taste of tradition, hence we'll visit an old gold mine. Keen on trying your hand at gold panning? This is the place! We continue our countryside antics with a brief hike up Mount Yahiko. The highlight? A breathtaking panoramic view of Niigata city, Sado Island and the expansive Japan Sea. With our hearts full of serenity, we'll head back to the city, ready for tomorrow's grand finale.

Day 3 - Sake, Science and Goodbyes

Can you really say you've visited Niigata without tasting its world-famous sake? Of course not! So we’ll visit a sake brewery in the morning. Here at the Imayotsukasa Sake Brewery, you'll get to know the ins and outs of sake making and even get to taste some too! From booze to brains, our next stop is the Niigata Science Museum, where you can interact with over 310 exhibits. Fascinating, right? But as the sun starts to set on our three-day adventure, we'll wind down with a stroll down Shinano River, beautifully lit and perfect for capturing your last memorable moments of Niigata.
