Introduction
Embark on a magical journey through Rostov, one of Russia's oldest towns. Our three-day itinerary will take you through historical landmarks, picturesque scenery, and rich cultural experiences. Immerse yourself in the vibrant character of Rostov, experience its local cuisine, and learn about its legacy.
Day 1 - Arrival & Discovering Rostov’s Kremlin
We'll kickstart your Russian adventure the moment you set foot in Rostov. Arrive at Rostov airport and transfer to your hotel for quick refreshment. Then, we're off to the Rostov Kremlin. Not to be confused with its Moscow counterpart, Rostov's Kremlin is an enchanting fortress with eye-captivating onion-shaped domes. It’s a treasure trove of history and reminds you of an ancient fairy tale. Don’t forget to climb up the bell tower for a panoramic view of Rostov and the serene Nero Lake. As dusk settles, we'll take a leisurely wander around Lake Nero, one of Europe's oldest lakes with an enthralling backdrop of the setting sun. Cap off the day by sampling local Rostov cuisine at one of the city's snug restaurants.
Day 2 - Exploring Yaroslavl & Boat Cruise
After breakfast on day two, we'll take a short drive to the vibrant town of Yaroslavl. With its colorful houses and elegant churches, it’s akin to a living painting. Visit the Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Treat your eyes to the admirable murals and frescoes inside the cathedral. Post-lunch, we'll experince a serene boat cruise on the mighty Volga River. What could be better than sailing through calm waters and capturing stunning scenic shots? Our day ends with a quick stop at a vibrant farmer's market. Try your hand at bargaining for some locally produced honey, bread, and pickles.
Day 3 - Ancient Towns & Departure
Day three starts with a trip to the quaint town of Suzdal. A short trip from Rostov, Suzdal is like a page straight out of a handsome storybook, full of well-preserved architecturally significant churches, monasteries and buildings. We'll tour the Suzdal Kremlin and the Museum of Wooden Architecture. Lunch will be a traditional Russian outdoor barbeque called Shashlik. After a fulfilling day, we'll drive back to Rostov for your return flight, marking an end to your memorable Russian escapade.
