Introduction

Experience the vibrant culture, rich history, golden beaches and exquisite cuisine of Ghana in a meticulously handcrafted 7-day itinerary designed to deliver an unrivaled travel experience.'

Day 1 - Welcome to Accra

Start your Ghanaian adventure in the bustling capital city, Accra. If you love history like me, you'd be thrilled to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, burial site of Ghana's first prime minister. Following this, explore the vibrant Makola Market, where the air is heavy with the smell of spices, and you'll find an abundance of locally made jewellery and cloth. Indulge in some hearty Ghanaian food at a local restaurant. My personal favorite? Waakye and some tasty kelewele!

Day 2 - Footprints in Cape Coast

After a full breakfast, we're off to Cape Coast, roughly 150 km west of Accra. Here, we'll step back in time at Cape Coast Castle and the gut-wrenching Door of No Return, potent symbols of the 18th-century slave trade. Trust me, the view of the Atlantic here is rather bittersweet. Cape Coast also offers wonderful opportunities for seaside relaxation, and the local food here? Unparralleled!

Day 3 - Invigorating Kumasi

Today, we'll head north to Kumasi, the cultural heart of Ghana. I promise you'd be fascinated by the Kente cloth weaving by the local artisans - it's hypnotic! Marvel at the Asante architecture at Manhyia Palace, or browse the Kejetia Market for local crafts. End your day with a succulent plate of Fufu and Groundnut soup, an emblematic Kumasi dish.

Day 4 - Return to Nature in Kumasi

Ready for some greenery? We'll visit the breathtakingly beautiful Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary. Picture this - a tranquil lake surrounded by a dense forest; True paradise! End your day relaxing by Lake Bosumtwi. Ain't the African sunset at the lake just like magic?

Day 5 - Explore Sunyani and Its Surrounds

Today, we journey to Sunyani, a city known for its pristine green landscapes. The journey there is equally impressive, offering stunning views of Ghana's countryside. In Sunyani, try and check out the Cocoa museum, I mean, who wouldn't want to know everything about Chocolate?

Day 6 - Admiring Artistry in Tamale

A short flight takes us to Tamale, the heart of Northern Ghana. A visit to the local artisanry and the Cultural Centre will certainly make your day! The vibrant folkloric music that fills the air here is infectious, don't resist, just groove along!

Day 7 - Farewell Ghana

As we bid farewell to the wonders of Ghana, use your free day to explore Tamale at your own pace or simply reflect on your experience while savoring a last delicious Ghanaian meal. Bet you're already planning your return to this gem of a country!
