Introduction

Uncover the hidden treasures of the small city of Chāpra, located in the Bihar state of India. This 3-day itinerary has been designed to offer you a unique blend of cultural immersion, local interaction, surreal landscapes, and an occasional brush with history.

Day 1 - Getting Acquainted with Chāpra

Start the day with the aroma of freshly brewed chai in one of the local stalls - a perfect introduction to begin your journey in India. Proceeding to the heart of the city, visit the Ambika Bhawani Temple, a famous shrine with beautiful architecture, where you'll witness the locals' devotion and their daily rituals. After paying homage, explore the sprawling Ambika Bhawani Bazar which is right around the corner. Get lost in its narrow lanes, buy some inexpensive handicrafts, and perhaps taste a local delicacy or two.A word of advice – try the piping hot samosa! Now, imagine a serene end to your day, on the banks of Sarayu River, watching the sun set. Isn't that something to look forward to?

Day 2 - Historic Chronicles and Lush Landscapes

Today, we immerse ourselves in history at the Gautam Asthan, believed to be the meditation spot of Gautam Rishi, and considered to be of archaeological importance. We'll take some time to observe the historic remains and soak up the area's silent whispers of the past. Moving on from history, we enter the realm of nature. Our next stop, Bhikhna Pahari, is a lush green plateau known for providing spectacular views of the city and the Ghaghara River. Isn't it intriguing how the same piece of land can hold such diverse treasures?

Day 3 - A Leisurely Farewell

As all good things must come to an end, we spend our last day leisurely. Starting at the local food joint, try out a traditional Indian breakfast - perhaps idli or poha? Next, we head to a nearby village for the first-hand experience of rural life. Here, experience the simpler way of living, interact with the heart-warming locals, and you might even get to try your hand at pottery. The rest of the day is at your own pace to explore, shop, or relax. As we wrap up these 3 wonderful days in Chāpra, isn't it lovely how this small city has so much more to offer than one could have imagined?
