Day 1 - Introduction and Exploration
Welcome to Catania, a city sprinkled with vibrant baroque architecture, energetic markets, and inviting piazzas. After you settle in, we'll kick off the adventure in the core of the city – the majestic Piazza del Duomo. With an illustrious elephant statue at its center and the mighty Cathedral of Sant'Agata on its perimeter, you'll feel like you've transported to another time. Post lunch, get ready for a fascinating visit to the city's Roman Theatre – An architectural gem dating back to the 2nd century AD. Let's wrap up our day at Food Market Pescheria, to immerse in the local vibes, before enjoying a Sicilian special, Pasta alla Norma for dinner.
Day 2 – Cultural Immersion
Day 2 begins with a morning visit to the well-preserved Castello Ursino, a castle situated right in the center of the city. Once a royal palace, it's now a fascinating museum that gives you a snapshot of Sicilian history. When hunger calls, treat yourselves to some scrumptious 'Arancini' for lunch at a local eatery. The afternoon will find us exploring the vibrant Via Etnea, a bustling street with various shops, cafes and baroque churches. Remember to try out the famous 'Granita' from one of the myriad local cafes. We'll end the day with a grand sunset view from the Riviera dei Ciclopi, a seaside path featuring a dramatic, mythologically-famed landscape.
Day 3 – Sun, Sand, and Sea
For the last day, we'll escape to La Playa, Catania's longest beach. Hailed as the city's coastline crown jewel, you can spend the day swimming, sunbathing, or simply enjoying the beach club amenities. How about some seafood for lunch? There are plenty of seaside restaurants serving fresh catch of the day. As the evening draws in, we've planned a visit to Giardino Bellini. An oasis amid the city's hustle and bustle, it's the best place to bask in nature's beauty as we say goodbye to Catania. So, ready to pack your bags and surrender to Catania’s allure?
