Introduction

Soak up the charm of Amarillo, Texas, in this adventure-packed three-day itinerary. From historic Route 66 to wild outdoor antics in the Palo Duro Canyon, buckle up buttercup, you're in for a ride.

Day 1 - Route 66, Cowgirls and a Symphony

Let's kick start our journey by exploring Amarillo's Historic Route 66 District. Packed with boutiques, antiques shops, eateries and plenty of art, it's a throwback to times when life was less complicated and probably a lot more fun. Next, we're off to the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum. Who knew horses had such an amazing history? They do in Texas! After a quick bite to eat, we'll round up our day at the Amarillo Symphony. Who doesn't love being serenaded by a full orchestra? It's the crescendo we need after a day well spent.

Day 2 - A Dose of Nature and a Night at the Theatre

Ready for the wild? Begin your day with a trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Admire the breathtaking scenery, spot native wildlife, and don't forget to take a ton of pictures! This is Mother Nature at its finest. Once we've had our fill of the fresh air, we'll hightail it to the unmistakable Wonderland Amusement Park for a rollercoaster ride or two. To finish off the day, let's get cultured at the Amarillo Little Theatre. Can someone say 'enchanting evening'?

Day 3 - Science, Starlight and Saying Goodbye to Amarillo

Here's to our last day in Amarillo. We'll start it off with a visit to the Don Harrington Discovery Center. Imagine where we would be without science? Who knew learning could be this much fun? Next, let's head over to the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. Breathe in the aromas, soak up the greenery, it's an urban Eden. As dusk falls, we'll wrap up our tour at the Starlight Ranch Event Center's Big Texan Starlight Ranch for a fitting farewell to Amarillo. Live bands, zip lining, and a mechanical bull ride if you're brave. A memorable finish for a memorable trip, don't you agree?
