Introduction

Discover the hidden gems of Chattanooga, often called the 'Scenic City'. This three-day itinerary is carefully designed for you to cover all the highlights - from stunning landscapes to iconic landmarks.

Day 1 - Immersion in Nature and History

Ruby Falls, that's our star for the day. You know why? Because it is a breathtaking underground waterfall! How often do you see one of those? Let's start early, around 9am, because the view from the cliff-side Lookout Mountain is something you don't want to rush. For lunch, we'll journey back to downtown. Chattanooga Choo Choo is our next key destination. Trust me, it's a lot more than just a catchy tune. You'll love exploring this historic train station turned hotel. If history is your thing, you're going to love it here. Speaking of history, let's end our day with a cruise onboard the Southern Belle Riverboat. Does cruising down the Tennessee River while having dinner just before sunset sound good to you? Because it sounds great to me!

Day 2 – Exploring Art and Animals

Ready for our second day? Of course, you are! We're stepping into the world of art and animals today. First, we’ll visit the Hunter Museum of American Art. This place is a unique blend of modern architecture and historical preservation. It’s like peeking into the past, present, and future of art, all at one time. After a lunch break, let’s shift our gaze from artful creations to nature’s own masterpieces. Excited for a safari? The Chattanooga Zoo awaits us. It’s no ordinary zoo but a chance to experience wildlife in an extraordinary immersive manner. To end the day on a soothing note, a stroll on the Walnut Street Bridge is a must. The illuminated bridge against the night sky? Simply mesmerizing.

Day 3 – Unveiling the Adventurous Chattanooga

Put on your adventure boots today, because we're embarking upon an epic outdoor quest. Our first stop is the Raccoon Mountain Caverns. Although going underground may seem daunting, the guided cave tours will take your breath away. You'll uncover a world of stunning geological formations. It’ll be lunchtime before we know it, so we'll picnic among nature. Up for some adventure on the river? Post-lunch, let’s head to the Tennessee Riverpark. You can cycle, fish, or simply marvel at the river’s beauty. Don't forget to save some energy though, as we’ll end the day on a high note. Ironman or not, the Ironman Bike Course is a thrilling way to bid farewell to this scenic city.
