Introduction

Discover the enchanting charm of Roanoke, a small city nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Our three-day itinerary involves a perfect balance of nature exploration, historical journey, shopping, and a hearty culinary experience. In just three days, you'll be able to experience all the awesome things Roanoke has to offer!

Day 1 - Roam around Roanoke

We'll kick off our first day with a welcoming breakfast at one of the city's unique eateries before heading to the Virginia Museum of Transportation. Here, you'll see an impressive collection of locomotives–some dating back to the 19th century. Isn't it amazing to see a piece of history up close like that? Followed by this, we'll travel down the green path to the Mill Mountain Park. Its breathtaking overlook presents a panoramic view of the charming city. Make sure to snap a photo with the giant, star-shaped Mill Mountain Star! To wrap up the day, we'll have a dinner under the star at one of the city’s finest restaurants. FYI, don't miss the chance to order Blue Ridge Trout, it's a local favorite.

Day 2 - Delving deeper into history and nature

Can you imagine a morning in a beautiful botanical garden? We'll start our day at the Hahn Horticulture Garden. It's six amazing acres of tranquility - perfect for immersing in the serene nature vibe. Post this, we hit the road to the Blue Ridge Parkway, a scenic drive that's truly jaw-dropping, with gorgeous vistas around each bend. It never fails to fill one's soul. Did you know that it's often called 'America's Favorite Drive'? Next, we'll journey through time at the historical plantation, the Booker T. Washington National Monument. Here, you'll learn about the humble beginnings of the influential African-American icon, Booker T. Washington. It's quite a revelation, isn't it? Finally, after a captivating day, we'll relish a hearty meal at a local diner.

Day 3 - Exploring arts & taste of Roanoke

Our last day in Roanoke starts at the Taubman Museum of Art to appreciate some Southern art. Isn't it amazing how art speaks without saying a single word? Afterward, a stroll around the market square should give us the chance to score some local goods and souvenirs. We'll also pop into a local restaurant to try Brunswick Stew - a regional speciality since colonial times. Lastly, we'll wrap up the day with a sunset fare at Bent Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast. Three days might have been short, but they're filled with lasting memories.
